SECTION 1 - WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.
Email marketing (if applicable): With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates.

SECTION 2 - CONSENT How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery, we do so with your consent and use it for only the purpose stated.
If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

How do I withdraw my consent?

If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at any time, by unchecking the option box or emailing us at feedback@getgripe.com

SECTION 3 - DISCLOSURE

We may disclose your personal information only if we are required by law enforcement agencies to do so.

SECTION 4 - PAYMENT

We use a payment gateway for processing payments. We/payment gateway do not store your card data on their servers. The data is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) when processing payment. Your purchase transaction data is only used as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is not saved.
Our payment gateway adheres to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

SECTION 5 - THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The shops signed up by us will only use your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide. For example when you buy an item and choose to have it home delivered, the fulfilling shop will come to know your address, which they will write on the package, for the delivery guys to pick up and deliver to you. The delivery agency, will also come to know your house address and telephone number, just in case you are not home when the delivery comes.
However, certain third-party service providers, such as our payment gateways and delivery partners, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.
For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.
Once you leave our store’s app or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our app and website’s Terms of Service.

When you click on advertisement links on our store, they may direct you away from our app. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and we thus encourage you to read their privacy statements.

SECTION 6 - SECURITY

To protect your personal information, we take all reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

SECTION 7 - AGE OF CONSENT

By using this app, you agree that you are at least the age of adulthood in India and you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this app. Besides our app does not have any sort of adult content – only e-commerce items.

SECTION 8 - CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it. If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.

SECTION 9 – THIRD PARTY OFFERS

In future, we may allow 3rd party companies to target you with their discounts, vouchers, coupons and offers in future. Here too the users of Gripe will have an option to consent whether they want to be targeted with such offers or not.
These coupons and offers may be based on your gender, address, age group or purchasing history on our app – or a combination of the above. This set of information is only going to be used to help the offering company target the right segment – for example if a product is for females of a certain city, then only those Gripe users who are female and from that city will be shown the offer. This offer will be shown to you in the Gripe app itself (accessible from the drop down menu – we will add a “Offers” section). Though their OFFERS will be shown to you, under NO circumstance will YOUR information be shared with them.
The users of Gripe are free to avail or ignore those offers and their decision will have no bearing on their future usage of the Gripe App. The opposite is true though – the more a user makes purchases using the Gripe app, the more such offers and coupons he or she is likely to receive from 3rd party companies. For example, an after- shave lotion company may want to offer discounts on their products to those Gripe customers who have bought an electric shaver in the last month (using Gripe). So only those customers who have purchased an electric shaver, will get to see a redeem-able coupon in their Gripe app. This will be done internally through the Gripe app (in the Offers section), without giving out your information to any external party.
Aside of using this information to help third party companies select and target the right customer segment on the Gripe platform, with their offers, we at Gripe may also use it for OUR own expansion purposes. For example we may see that in a particular city Gripe is more popular among females but not males – hence we may take out FM radio or newspaper ads in that city, targeting males. Sometimes a city/town may be underrepresented in a certain vendor segment compared to the number of Gripes (eg – a city may have a lot more Gripes for Apparel, compared to the number of Apparel vendors of that city listed with Gripe) – from this we will realize we need to on-board more Apparel shops in that city and channel our marketing efforts accordingly.
Such are the methods in which we plan to use your data. Once more, we do not sell or trade your information to any third-party – we do however plan to allow them to target the correct segment of Gripe users for their offers. This will only make your purchase experience on Gripe app better – for example, those males who bought an electric shaver on Gripe, may get discount offers for After Shave lotions, those females who bought dresses, may get offers for cosmetics. It is their call whether they want to avail the offer. We reiterate, your information will never be shared with other 3 rd parties – but their offers will be shown to you in the Gripe app.
